RACE DAY SEVEN: Louis Vuitton Trophy La Maddalena regatta in Sardinia

 TEAMORIGIN had been scheduled to race Azzura in match 5 today but delays in the race programme meant that their race was cancelled. Two races were completed today with BMWO Oracle Racing in the action suffering defeat at the hands of the Russians and then taking a controversial win over the New Zealanders, Emirates Team New Zealand.

TEAMORIGIN are scheduled to be back on the water tomorrow, Saturday 29th May, with hopefully two races for the day.

In the second race of the day, BMWORACLE Racing were penalised but ahead of the Kiwis , then ETNZ were penalised by the umpires on the last downwind for not having enough forestay tension so that offset the USA penalty and BMWO took the controversial win, giving USA 2 points and ETNZ staying on 4 points. That said, a red flag on visible on the Kiwi boat as they crossed the finish line so more onshore discussion was sure to follow.
